At that time Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was the Prime Minister in 1966. India was suffering from the scarcity of the food grains and nation was unable to arrange the square meal for the Indians. At that time India imported a lot of food grain every year to fulfill the requirement but it took three months for transportation of the food grains via sea way. Due to which a lot of the food grains got rotten because a lack of proper management of food grains. To fulfill this requirement of food grains government of India launched green revolution in which a lot of use of technology was enhanced. This launching of the green revolution resulted in production of vigorous amount of the food grains which resulted in production of the more than enough food to fulfill the requirement of the nation. Not only this India was capable to export the grains to other countries after this tremendous production by only three states named Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. At that time America always threatened India that from there supply of grains will be stopped if India will oppose America. After launching of this campaign India recorded a big production of grains and America also exported grain from there to sell in India but at that time India denied to buy further grains from America which resulted in hostility between the two countries. After that every year India tried to produce more and more grains with the help of new technologies.
It is seen that many countries are unable to fulfill their requirement, so India should help those countries. Even India can produce more than enough food grains but still farmers should try to enhance the production. Farmers of India should try to make and produce new hybrid species of every food grain to reduce the competition of selling of the single quality grains.
