Lets assume 1 man’s 1 day’s work = x
and 1 boy’s 1 day’s work = y.
=> 2x+3y=1/10 ---- (1)
and 3x+2y=1/8. ----- (2)
By Solving eq. (1) and (2)
x=7/200 and y=1/100.
Therefore (2 men +1 boy)’s 1 day’s work = (2*7/200 + 1*1/100) = 16/200 = 2/25.
So, 2 men and 1 boy together can finish the work in 25/2 =12 1/2 days or 12.5 days.
