In a country, all families want a boy. They keep having babies till a boy is born. What is the expected ratio of boys and girls in the country?

I thought 1:1 is correct.
Let me put it in easy way.
Suppose there are x families. Now since there is equal probability of having a boy/girl. So x/2 families got a boy and another x/2 will got a girl. Now the families that are having girl will try again. So x/4 of them will get a boy and other x/4 will get a girl. and repeat this process………
Now calculate the total number of boys and girls. You will get the answer x boys and x girls.
Hence the proportion will be 1:1
