This Christmas like any other Christmas I and eight of my friends were planning to go to the Himalayas. This time I was assigned the task to do all the planning and choose the destination. I have always loved the Himalayas and the moment mountain gives us. The boys of our group have never visited Mussoorie so we decided to go to Mussorie instead to explore more. I started planning a month before to book all the respective tickets and find safe accommodation for ourselves beforehand that too at a cheap rate. I booked tickets for the bus from Delhi to Mussoorie which cost less for the booking of nine people. The bus red in colour was safe and it was important for us to look into a safe option for three of the female travellers travelling with us. We took the bus from Rajdhani Bus Stand and our journey was of eight hours, the ride was very beautiful and was accompanied by the sunrise. I had booked a hotel in Mall road. We went for the hotel rooms which were luxurious for the same safety precaution of the women and luggage. Our hotel had three rooms for us in which a bedroom was shared among three girls and two other roomstooms were shared by six of us boys. The three girls went shopping while we boys joined them later after a lavishafter lavish lunch of maggie on our way. The mall road here was really beautiful, it was designed by the theme of Christmas and had everything the main market should have and we used to visit it every day on our trip. To keep everyone safe and updated about the planning I also made a WhatsApp group for every member to share their live location if going somewhere alone and also the photographs and videos they took every night.
The next day we had to take a small traveller to a higher peak to witness the sunrise. We watched one of the best sunrises of our life when the sun meadowed up in between the rocks as the shades of red with blue started spreading across the sky. The pigment of purple travelled between the sky as we went totally awe. Our trip was followed by visiting popular tourist places such as camp and kempty waterfall but we also had a day where we could explore places which are unknown. We went camping to the place thirty km away from the city where we had to trek to reach a waterfall. We spent our night there with the food we had packed earlier that morning.
Our trip was almost coming to the end as Christmas came. The whole city was decorated with lights and candles and there was a Santa in every third shop of the market. All the girls were assigned the task to go to the market to buy all the stuff which would help us in celebrating from cake to balloons while boys stayed and helped to decorate the rooms in a Christmas theme. After decorating the place we all dressed up in our winter outfits and went out to witness snowfall. After playing in snowfall for a while we all retrieved back to our plan of visiting the church to pray. The praying was really peaceful and the melodious rhyme therapeutic. It helped us in calming our senses down as we ended the trip with a joyful evening of dancing and laughing.
It was on 26th December that we took the bus back to Delhi and hugged each other goodbye before returning home.
The whole trip was magical and beautiful. Though there werewas some faultsfault like Monica's money getting lost or mistakenly paying extra for the taxi, taxi but it taught me how to manage everything from crises to planning and be happy with how things are going. It was one of the beautiful trips which are now captured in pictures as a memory.
