The major and the biggest step taken by our Government is complete lockdown in our country. The very first lockdown was declared on 25th March, 2020, which continued for almost 21 days. There after, lockdown is still being continued but some relief has been given as the livelihood of people and economic growth of the country has to be maintained. Now, unlock phase has been declared, that means lockdown with some relief. Our country has been divided into different zones by our honorable Prime Minister Modi. The different zones are- Red zone, Orange zone, Green zone and Containment zone. Different zones have varying levels of restrictions aimed at containing the spread of the novel coronavirus. Red zones are the places having highest number of cases. Orange zones are the areas with limited number of cases in the past and no increment in positive cases in the present. Green zones are the places with zero confirmed cases till date or the last 21 days. Containment zones are the small areas like colonies, localities in all the three classified zones. It is the zone where severe positive cases are coming and these are completely sealed.
There has been restrictions on the international flights and also very few inter-state vehicles have been running. Now some travelling restrictions has been put off but with some rules and regulations. If a person travels, the he/she would be quarantined for 14 days. Many quarantine centers have been arranged by our Government.
India is lacking hospital beds for number of infected people. Many public hospitals in India are over-crowded, they lack hospital staffs, and also patients are ill treated. Many cases in Delhi can be seen where patients are left to die outside the hospitals.
It is strictly said by our Government to maintain social distancing, wear masks, do sanitization. Although many people follow this, but there are some who do not follow these all and becomes the main cause of spreading the novel coronavirus.
Beside this, our scientists are preparing vaccines with full determination. The Drug Controller General of India has permitted two vaccines- one developed by Bharat Biotech International Limited in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and another one by Zydas Cadila Healthcare Limited to go in for the human trial.
India is although fighting with full determination to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, but there are some circumstances and negligency that the cases are increasing day by day. The recovery rate is approximately 68% of our country. But, the death rates is not decreasing. It is very important for the citizens of India to co-operate the Government and also, the hospitals must take care that every patients must be treated well.
