Should Hindi be the official language of India?

Apart from hindi other most spoken language in India is English why because this gives professional look to a company as well as it helps to communicate with other people. It can be possibility that a person don't know Hindi as they might have born in southern India but they definitely will know to speak English so it makes it easy to deal with people. So Hindi should not be official language.
