Nuclear weapons are explosive device that works on nuclear reactions. These nuclear reaction either involve fission or a combination of fission and fusion reaction. The common part among the reactions is both releases large amounts of energy from a small amount of matter. Nuclear weapons are weapons of mass destruction and their control has been taken up with most care and the policies have been fixed with great concerns internationally. Other, weapons of mass destruction are Chemical, Biological and Radiological. The weapons have been used by the Unites States twice against Japan. US Army Air Forces dropped Little boy on Hiroshima and three days later detonated Fat Man over the Japanese city of Nagasaki.
Some scientists estimate that if there were a nuclear war resulting in 100 Hiroshima-size nuclear explosions on cities, it could cause significant loss of life in the tens of millions from long term climatic effects alone. The climatology hypothesis is that if each city firestorms, a great deal of soot could be thrown up into the atmosphere which could blanket the earth, cutting out sunlight for years on end, causing the disruption of food chains, in what is termed a nuclear winter. The medical effects of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima upon humans can be put into the four categories below, with the effects of larger thermonuclear weapons producing blast and thermal effects so large that there would be a negligible number of survivors close enough to the center of the blast who would experience prompt/acute radiation effects, which were observed after the 16 kiloton yield Hiroshima bomb, due to its relatively low yield.
These weapons are too powerful to be in power of a single person. And though severe but these should be eradicated from around the world.
