Earth's shape is a spheroid; i.e; not exactly a sphere but a little flat from the top and the bottom. The whole Earth is divided into three parts- CRUST, MANTLE AND CORE. The topmost part is called the crust, middle one is the mantle and the innermost is called the core. The Earth's crust is solid but made of parts which move very slowly. The thin level of of the crust is soil, gravels and stones. The is liquid material present in the mantle. It also moves because of the molten material present in the innermost part of the Earth,i.e; core. This movement of plates causes earthquakes, volcanoes.
The crust of the Earth is not even. There are high rise structures called mountains low places called valleys, and high flat places called as plateaus. Places with heavy rains are forests and with no rains are deserts.
Earth is covered with an atmosphere. It is the layer of air which covers and protects the Earth. The air is mostly made of nitrogen(78%), oxygen(21%) and few other gases. Atmosphere has also different levels. The level in which we live and use the air to breathe is the Troposphere. The day to day change in this sphere is called weather. The changes between places for long duration is called the climate. Above this level, it is Stratosphere. This layer consists of a special type of gas called as Ozone. Ozone layer protects our Earth from harmful UV rays of the Sun. The third layer is the Mesosphere, fourth is the Thermosphere and the last one is the Ionosphere.
Equator divides our Earth into northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere.Large masses of land and huge water bodies are known as continents and oceans respectively. It comprises the environment of the Earth. There are seven continents- Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Australia and Antarctica. There are five oceans- Pacific ocean, Atlantic ocean, Indian ocean, Arctic ocean,Antarctic ocean. Northern most part of the earth is called North Pole and southern most part is called as the South Pole.
Earth is the only planet in our Solar System that has a large amount of liquid water.About 74-75% of our Earth is covered by water either in liquid or frozen state. Because of the presence of large amount of water, our Earth is referred as the "BLUE PLANET". Due to the large availability of water, it is the home of many plants and animals too. Earth's water is useful for everyone to survive. There are different kinds of water bodies in the form of sea, oceans, rivers, ponds, lakes. Out of these, rivers, ponds and lakes are the source of fresh water. Humans use this fresh water for different purposes such as bathing, washing clothes, cooking food and other day-to-day activities. It is also used in industries for making different items, Fresh water is used for drinking purpose majorly. Rain is the most important phenomenon of the Earth. It maintains the ecological balance of the Earth.
The another most important component of the Earth is The Oxygen. Life survives on the Earth due to oxygen. Every creature on the Earth, either giant or tiny, plants, animals or human beings, everyone breathes oxygen.

Our Earth is a natural habitat and a beautiful place to live. Earth provides food, water and shelter to all the species living here, but due to increase in urbanization, the humans are destroying our mother Earth. It must be kept in mind that it is the place of our existence so we must love the Earth and not destroy it.
