This does not mean that a person should not do hard work, one must work hard but should know how to work smart because working in smart way increases your productivity. Hard working will make you spend more time on a single task whereas smart work will let you work on multiple things which will make you gain expertise in many things.

" Smart work is more important than hard work because if a person knows how to do a big task in less time and more efficient way then he or she not only saves time or energy but in this way they can work more. If a person works hard and does not know how to quickly finish the work in a better way then the productive of the firm can decrease. This does not mean that a person should not do hard work, one must work hard but should know how to work smart because working in smart way increases your productivity. Hard working will make you spend more time on a single task whereas smart work will let you work on multiple things which will make you gain expertise in many things. "

Hard work or Smart work? The answer isn't that straight forward. It all depends on the circumstances and the objective of the work.
For instance, let's take our exams as an example.
The smart way of doing well in exam involves shortcut methods, i.e., only studying important previous year question papers, and memorising the same.
Whereas, hard work in this example involves detailed study, understanding of the concepts and practicing them.
So, both hard work and smart work in this case has different consequences.
Smart work in this case is more of short term goal oriented method, which takes less time but cannot rely on it in the long run.
But hard work on the other side, is more of long term goal oriented method, which takes more time.
So, one has to choose according the situation and objective of the work.
