Tech Mahindra has revised their hiring process this year (for 2017 batch) by reducing the no of questions from 130 to 75 within the time limit of 50 minutes. Also, this time they have introduced an additional round of story writing based on the image. The selection process of  Tech Mahindra consists of 4 rounds. These rounds are as follows:

  • Written Exam
  • Story Writing
  • Technical Interview
  • HR Interview

There are No Section wise time limits, but the scores for all the sections are calculated separately and those students who clear the cut-off in all the sections are shortlisted for the next round. i.e story writing.

75 questions in 50 Minutes, this itself gives you the hunch that the questions are going to be easy and it is going to be the game of speed. “Q4I” suggest to solve 50-60% of the correct questions per section to clear the sectional cut-off.

English Language General 1: This section comprises of Synonyms, Antonyms, Spot the error, Find the correct word (spell check), Sentence completion (Vocabulary), articles, and prepositions.

English Language General 2: This section comprises of Tenses, Subject verb agreement, Confusing words, Sentence jumbles, Spot the errors, Idioms and Phrases, sentence completion, analogous pair.

English Language Comprehension: This section comprises of Unseen passages, “Q4I” suggest to read the question first and then read the passage carefully and solve the questions.

Quant: This section comprises of Profit & Loss (2), Percentage, SI, CI, Averages(3), problems on age, permutation & combination, Time and distance, Time and work, Partnership, Calendars, Boats and streams, Alligation and Mixtures, Clocks, Number systems etc.

Verbal Reasoning General: This section comprises of Circular/Linear seating arrangements, blood relations (most imp.), coding, analogies, letter series, and number series, an odd man out, coding, decoding, analogies.

Verbal Reasoning Paragraph: In this section, a paragraph will be given where 3 questions will be asked. It may be a puzzle in the form of a paragraph.

Non-Verbal Reasoning: This section comprises of mirror images, classifications & pattern completion.

After completion of this written test, the result will be displayed on the screen. If you are through the exam you will get a message “CONGRATULATIONS, YOU ARE CONTINUED TO NEXT ROUND" or else it will show as “SORRY!!! THANK YOU FOR ATTEMPTING"

Story (200 words in 15 Mins): Once you clear the first round, a random picture will flash on screen candidates needs to write a story describing it. This round as well is conducted online, and its duration is 15 minutes. The candidate is shown a picture and candidate is asked to write an essay describing the picture within a character limit of 1,200 characters (including spaces ), which comes up to 200 words approximately. This question is asked in order to test the literary skills of the candidate with reference to grammar, spellings, and punctuation.

Technical Interview: Once the candidate clears the second round of Tech Mahindra's recruitment process, he/she will proceed to the third round i.e Technical round. This will be one to one interview. In this round questions will be from candidates resume, projects, pieces of training, favorite subject, basic C/C++/JAVA, DBMS, SQL etc.

HR Interview: In this round, candidates can be send in a group of 3-4 people, or it will be on to one Interview. Mostly round stars from “Introduce yourself” followed by hobby, career objectives, Where do you see yourself after 5/10 years? Why do you want to work with Tech Mahindra? What do you know about the company? What are your long-term goals in your life? etc.Refer HR round interview question asked in Tech Mahindra.
