Rate limit drops the packet,  shaping store excessive packets to buffer and de queue it.

Complete input traffic sent out of port since traffic rate coming within shape rate

Usually through dual token bucket packets will be color marked based on rate.  Externally through BCM flag also packet can be marked with red,  green and yellow color

From queue based on scheduling, algorithm packets will be dequeued in order.  We have round-robin,  strict priority,  weighted RR algorithms. Scheduling comes after egress packet during the stage.

Port shaping,  queue shaping.

In dnx architecture,  QoS shall be applied on the logical interface at valance level.  So each blanket on same port shall be treated/served differently
