STEP-BY-STEP
- Let a man’s wage per day= a
And woman’s wage per day= b.
There are 24 men so, 24xa= 24a and no. Of women is16 so, 16xb= 16b.
Therefore, 24a+ 16b= 11600.---------1
According to the other part of the question,
12a+ 37b= 11600. ------------2
For solving the equations, we will multiply the equation 2 with 2 and we get,
2(12a+ 37b= 11600.)
24a+ 74b =23200.-----------3
Solving 1 and 3 we get,
58b= 11600
B= 200
Putting the value of b=200 in equation 1 we get,
24x a +16x 200= 11600
24 a + 3200= 11600
24 a= 11600- 3200
24a= 8400
A= 8400/24
A= 350
Hence, the daily wage of a man is Rs. 350."
