if we work this problem,

then counting the odd days from 1996-2001

4*1+3*2

4+6

10 (how is it divisible by 7???

where as if we calculate from 1996-2000

3 ordinary years*1+2 leap years*2

3+4=7 odd days= o odd days

hence answer shuld be 2000 right?
